Fertility studies in plankton Copepods of the Atlantic Ocean

Summary

The purpose of the present research - reception of reproductive characteristics Atlantic copepods the laboratory contents, that on the basis of these parameters to estimate general product condition of research areas. The basic attention gave definition of absolute both relative fertility and its change depending on conditions living of females.
Dependence of absolute copepods fertility on productivity of female habitation is confirmed for 4 species. The received data on 100-m surface layer primary production have allowed to calculate 
empirical expression of dependence with high coefficients of correlation.

Researches carried out on R/V " Professor Vodyanitsky " in southeast region of South-Atlantic anticyclonic circulation since November 1978 till April 1979.
